Access Tanahun Inauguration Ceremony, 2022

Inauguration of the Tanahun Access by the Chief Guest, Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam, RELO Program Specialist, U.S. Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal.

Access Tanahun Inauguration Ceremony was held on March 20, 2022 at Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Multiple Campus, Tanahun with the presence of the chief guest, Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam, RELO Program Specialist, U.S. Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal and other distinguished guests, Mr. Lal Prasad Bhattarai, Chair of NELTA Tanahun and Local Coordinator of the Access Tanahun, Mr. Ashok Sapkota, NELTA Treasurer, Mr. Chakra Bdr. Adhikari, Founding Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Ram Chandra Pokhrel, Vice President of NELTA Gandaki Province and Immediate Past Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Daya Raj Kattel, Member of NELTA Gandaki Province, Mr. Krishna Hari Gaire, Past Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Bramha Datta Timalsina, Chairperson of the College Management Committee of Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Multiple Campus, Mr. Sagar Poudel and Asst. Campus Chief of Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Multiple Campus. The other guests of the program include the executive members of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Basanta Kadel, Vice Chair, Prakash Khadka, Secretary, Tirtha Raj Bardewa, Treasurer and principals, and representatives from the 8 feeder schools.

 There was valuable of presence of the parents of the Access Students, Access Teachers, Ms. Manu Sapkota Poudel, Mr. Prakash Mishra, Ms. Dhanju Adhikari, and Mr. Pradip Sigdel and the other 40 students. The program was chaired by Mr. Lal Prasad Bhattarai, Chair of NELTA Tanahun and Local Coordinator of Tanahun Access, and anchored by Mr. Sudip Neupane, Access Program Coordinator.

The Access Teachers, Ms. Manu Sapkota Poudel and Ms. Dhanju Adhikari welcomed the chief guest, distinguished guests, and special guests with Khada. Sandhya Adhikari, Access Student delivered her welcome speech which was followed by the inauguration of the program by lighting the panas lamp by the chief guest and other distinguished guests and singing the national anthem of Nepal. On behalf of the Access Students, Lalit Neupane and Ankita Thapa shared their experiences as Access students. Furthermore, they shared that they felt proud to be Access Students since they got ample opportunity to learn with different teaching styles and projects. On behalf of the Access Teachers, Ms. Manu Sapkota Poudel expressed that they had been teaching students by creating fun and enjoyment.

Ms. Ambika Thapa, parent of the Access Student thanked to all and wished to help their children to enhance their overall development and capabilities. Likewise, Mr. Keshar Bdr. Thapa, Principals’ representatives from the feeder schools shared that this program was helping students improve their English language. Similarly, Bramha Datta Timalsina, Chair of the College Management Committee, and Mr. Sagar Poudel, Asst. Campus Chief of Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Multiple Campus expressed that they were ready to support to this program as a host center. Likewise, Ram Chandra Pokhrel thanked to U.S. Embassy and NELTA for bringing this program to support the students who were really in need to enhance their English skills. He further expressed that they did a lot of hard work to bring this program at Tanahun. Mr. Ashok Sapkota, NELTA Treasurer thanked all who were involved in this program. He further stated that Access is one of the most successful programs of NELTA, supported by the US Department of State, and the U.S. Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal. This program has been covered in 27 districts having 38 access centres where 1520 students having the age group 13-16 years are directly benefitted with leadership, English Skills and technological skills. Mr. Bishwa raj Gautam, Chief Guest of the program requested students to be proactive and believe in themselves for their goodness in their future.  

Access Student receiving Certificate of Award

Access Students, Ankita Thapa, Mandira Thapa and Asmita Thapa performed their cultural dances in Nepali songs.  Access Students shared greeting cards as a token of love to the guests. In the program, 40 Access Students, 4 Access Teachers and a Local Coordinator were awarded with a certificate of award. The chair of the program, Mr. Bhattarai highlighted that NELTA Tanahun was grateful to NELTA Center and the U.S. Embassy for this program. He further expressed that students were taking a lot of benefits from this program in his concluding remarks.

Graduation Ceremony of Tanahun Access

The Graduation Ceremony of Tanahun Access was held under the chairmanship of the Chair of NELTA Tanahun and Access Focal Person of Tanahun, Mr Lal Prasad Bhattarai, at Access Center, Aadikabi Bhanubaktha Campus, Tanahun on August 18, 2022. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Nabila Massoumi, Regional English Language Officer, the U.S. Department of State. Likewise, Mr. Ramesh Chandra Hadkale, Ward Chair of Ward No. 1 of Vyas Municipality, Tanahun, Ms. Motikala Subba Deban, NELTA President, Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam, RELO Program Specialist, Mr. Ashok Sapkota, NELTA Treasurer, Mr. Ramchandra Pokhrel, Vice President of NELTA Gandaki Province and Immediate Past Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Daya Raj Kattel, NELTA Gandaki Province Member, Mr. Chakra Bahadur Adhikari, Founding Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Krishna Hari Gaire, Past Chair of NELTA Tanahun, Mr. Bramha Datta Timalsina, Chairperson of CMC of Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Campus, Mr. Maha Prasad Hadkale, Campus Chief, Mr. Sagar Poudel, Asst. Campus Chief of the same campus, executive committee members of NELTA Tanahun (Mr. Basanta Kandel, Vice Chair, Prakash Khadka, Secretary, Tirtha Raj Bardewa, Treasurer and other), and principals from 8 feeder schools joined the program as distinguished guests. In addition, there were presence of 40 Access Students and their parents and 4 Access Teachers (Ms. Manu Sapkota Poudel, Mr. Pradip Sigdel, Ms. Dhanju Adhikari and Mr. Prakash Mishra) in the graduation ceremony. More than one hundred and twenty people have participated in this graduation ceremony. The program was anchored by Mr. Sudip Neupane, Access Program Coordinator at NELTA for English Access Microscholarship Program, Nepal.

Initially, Alisha Sedhai, Access Student welcomed everyone presented in the program through her welcome note. The ceremony was inaugurated by the chief guest and distinguished guest. Sandhya Adhikari and Lalit Naupane reflected about what they had learned, how this program played the role to develop their personality and leadership skills on behalf of Access Students and Ms. Manu Sapkota Poudel shared her reflection from teachers’ side. She stated that the program has not only enhanced students’ knowledge, but also played significant roles for teacher’s professional development and it was very excited and unforgettable moment of their life to work through such program. Mr. Dan Bahadur Baniya, parents’ representative, highlighted that this program helped students build confidence and leadership skills.

Mr. Maha Prasad Hadkhale, Campus Chief said that students got a great platform to learn and enhance their personality where the campus was thankful for selecting it as the Access Center. Mr. Bramha Datta Timalsina, Chairperson of College Management Committee, stated that a good relationship had been established with the U.S. Embassy through this program. Mr. Ramchandra Pokhrel, Vice President of NELTA Gandaki Province requested the U.S. Embassy to offer many other programs so that NELTA Tanahun would get a chance to show its strengths through the successful accomplishment of such programs. One of the representative principal from the feeder school expressed that positive change was seen in students’ behavior, they have raised their confidence and leading the class. The Chief Guest, Likewise, Mr. Ramesh Chandra Hadkale, Ward Chair of Ward No. 1, stated that they were so happy and ready to support such programs in the future.

Dr. Nabila Massoumi wished for the progress and best future ahead of the students. Likewise, RELO Program Specialist, Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam, mentioned that students should be active in alumni group and future opportunities.

Ms. Motikala Subba Dewan, NELTA President said that it was wonderful to work with the Regional English Language Office, the U.S. Embassy Kathmandu. She thanked RELO Officer for giving scholarships to students who are from poor economic status, backward communities, and marginalized groups. The Access Students performed Kaura dance and jhyure dance, a typical local popular dance of Gandaki Province as a cultural exchange.

Similarly, Bharosa Baniya and Ankita Thapa, Access Students shared reflections of their every moment of what they had done through slides, videos, and photos. Enhancement activities, community services, speech programs, quiz programs, and celebrations of different days and the month were shown through slides. They also thanked RELO as well as NELTA for those wonderful opportunities.

40 Access Students, Access Teachers, and Focal Person received a certificate of achievement and the memories of it was captured in numerous group photos. The chair of the program thanked everyone for their support to accomplish this program with a grand success.
