Morang Accesss Alumni Meeting

NELTA Morang organized a one day interaction program with Morang Access Alumni, Morang Access Teachers, and Executive committee of NELTA Morang on January 21, 2017. On that day, the alumni were informed about the formation of Access Alumni Association, Nepal and how they can become a member of this association. Students were also informed about registering for the International Exchange Alumni. Students were asked about their current involvements and their aspirations. They were asked to visit the Access center to complete the registration process.

Graduation Ceremony of Morang Access Students

The two years’ Access program in Sunsari and Morang Access centers ended in 2016. The graduation ceremony of Morang and Sunsari Access was held on July 14, 2016 at Itahari Sunsari. The program was attended by 80 Access students and their parents. In the program, Morang Access student, Anjana Niroula and Sunsari Access student, Antim Rai shared their experience of Access program and expressed their commitment in further enhancing their skills and excel in life. The program was graced by the presence of RELO Russell Barczyk, RELO specialist Bishwa Raj Gautam, Access Focal person Hemanta Raj Dahal, Assistant District Education Officer of Sunsari. In the program, the ninth volume of Access Newsletter was also released.

Dashain Celebration at Access Morang

Morang Access Students and teachers conducted a “Dashain Special Program” at its center Biratchowk, Morang on October 17, 2015. Before the commencement of the program, the students carried out some creative project works where they artistically drew some posters, wrote essays about ‘Dashain’, and created beautiful greeting cards. After that, they watched a video about mythological aspect of the greatest Hindu festival ‘Dashain.’ Then, two Access students named Anjana Niraula and Sarjan Rai anchored the program. First, they called their instructor Mr. Tirtha karki to welcome the students with his best wishes to the students and co-instructor. Afterwards, they called all the students turn by turn to share their best wishes and complements with their talent performance. In the program, Bhawana Rai and Roman Rai delivered a speech about ‘Dashain’. Likewise, Sulav Baruwal demonstrated a ‘Caricature’ of different popular political leaders. In the same way, Namrata Parajuli, Babita Basnet, Manita B.K., Bishnu Magar, Bina Tamang, Astab Alam and Anjana Niraula sang songs melodiously. Similarly, Manoj Rai, Ajaj Hussain, Suruchi Karki, Anil Uram and New Jal Adhikari created humorous environment cracking their best jokes. At the end, the MC called their instructor Mr. Khem Raj Sharma Acharya to share his best wishes. He, then, along with his best wishes, sang some songs melodiously with the students. The students were elated getting an opportunity to share their best wishes to their friends and teachers on the auspicious occasion of the greatest Hindu festival ‘Dashain.’ Moreover, they were thankful to the organizer for providing them chance to explore their hidden talents.

Teej Special Program at Morang Access Center

Morang Access Students and teachers organized a “Teej Special Program” at its center Biratchowk, Morang on September 12, 2015. The students explored their various hidden talents in the program. They performed cultural dance, sang Teej songs, performed caricatures and drama on the malpractices in Teej and delivered speech about the greatest Hindu women’s festival Teej. The students set the program themselves under the guidance of their instructors. Besides the entertainment and cultural celebration, the program remained fruitful for the promotion of cultural harmony, religious tolerance and understanding the Nepalese festivals.

American Independence Day Celebration

Access Morang Center celebrated ‘American Independence Day’ organizing a speech contest on ‘English Language and American Culture’ on July 4, 2015 at its center, Biratchowk, Morang. The program was chaired by Mr. Guru Prasad Adhikari, Focal person and chair of NELTA Morang. Similarly, Access instructor Mr. Gobinda Puri conducted the program, while Mr. Tirtha Karki and Mr. Khem Sharma Acharya assessed the students’ performance. The program was commenced showing a video related to ‘American Independence Day’. Then the students sang a song ‘Happy Birthday America’. Thereafter, Mr. Karki highlighted significance of the program. In addition, he presented rules and guidelines of the contest. After that, all the students from both groups put forward their views on the topic turn by turn. The speakers stated the importance of English language. Moreover, they explored many facts about American culture. They mentioned that they are elated to learn about American culture. Then, Mr. Acharya offered his feedback on the performance of the students. The focal person, Mr. Guru Prasad Adhikari awarded prizes to the winners Bhawana Rai, Roman Rai, Sandeep Rai and Anjana Niraula who stood first, second, third and fourth position respectively. At the end, the students, focal person and the teachers wished “Happy Birthday America” blowing candles and cutting cake.

Morang Readers’ Club organize “Book Review and Discussion Program”

  Morang Access Center organized the first Readers’Club Book Review and Discussion program on November 8, 2014. The chief guest of the program was the chair and focal person of NELTA Morang, Mr. Guru Prasad Adhikari. Ms. Anjana Niroula, one of the Access student was chosen as the chairperson for the program. Mr. Avinash Chaudhary and Ms. Suruchi Karki conducted the program. They chose to review articles from the Access newsletter and Accessing English through stories. The articles were a poem, ‘Nature’, and a story ‘Girl Trafficking’. The readers were asked to  share their views and ideas. Yogesh Limbu described about the characters of the story,’ Girl Trafficking’. Sandip Rai described about the events of the story. Muna Shrestha paraphrased the poem ‘Nature’. Avinash Choudhary highlighted the importance of nature and other students asked various questions related to girl trafficking and nature. The speakers tried their best to answer their queries. The program was full of discussions. Towards the end, Mr. Guru Adhikari reviewed the program. He lauded the students for their performance. He also gave some valuable suggestions on speaking in the mass. At the end, Ms. Anjana Niroula, the Chairperson summarized the main points of the speakers.

The Access students of Morang branch are working in groups to prepare materials for celebrating 238th American Independence Day. They made American and Nepalese Flags. Through this activity they have learnt about brief history of America. The objectives of the program were to familiar the students about American Independence day and the ways how people celebrate the day. The students enjoyed a lot during the program. They were happy to draw the flags, sing songs and present their drawings.
