Syangja Access in Community Service

Access Center Syangja organized a community service program targeted at differently able students who are studying in (Shree Bhumre Secondary School walling-9, Syangja) a government-funded community school. They distributed stationery and sports materials on December 14, 2019 in collaboration with NELTA Syangja. The program was held in the presence of Focal person (Mr. Kamal Raj Lamsal), NELTA Syangja treasurer (Mr. Durga Dhakal), Access instructors along with all Access students. This program was conducted formally under the chairmanship of NELTA treasurer (Mr. Durga Dhakal). Chief Guest of the program was respected mayor of Walling Municipality (Mr. Dilip Pratap Khand), Access focal Syangja shed lights on the objectives of community service. Chief Guest delivered short speech to promote and develop Access students’ leadership and community services. There were 10 differently able students who are staying in the same school. The Access students had interaction with the differently able students, their teachers and caregiver, learning about their difficulties and challenges. They were really excited and happy to help those children with special needs. The source teacher (Mr. Dolraj Basyal) expressed gratitude to the Access for visiting the school and providing materials. NELTA treasurer concluded program with a brief remark.

Syangja Access Celebrates Children’s Day

Access Center Syangja celebrated 56th National Children’s Day on September 15, 2019, by conducting a speech competition program on the topic of ‘Child Rights’. The Access students conducted the program. The program was formally started after the chairmanship of Access student Mr. Pratik Kafle. The Access student Ms. Anusha Regmi conducted the program. Access teachers and Ms. Pramisha G R played the role of the judge in program. In the program, altogether, there were eight participants and they were Mr. Aman B.K, Mr. Krishana Nepali, Mr. Chol Bahadur Thapa, Mr. Prabhat Bikram Regmi, Ms. Anjali Nepali, Ms. Prem Maya G T, Ms. Pabitra Rana, and Ms. Phul Maya Gurung. They spoke on the topic of Child Rights. After the judgment of judges, the first position was secured by Ms. Anajli Nepali, second Ms. Pabitra Rana and third by Ms. Phul Maya Gurung. After the result, publication and prize distribution Chairperson of the program delivered his speech about the history and importance of celebrating this day.

Visiting Elderly Home

Syangja Access organized a special program of visiting elderly and helpless people at Shiva Parbati Old Age Home at Ramdi, Syangja in the leadership of Syangja Access focal person Mr. Kamal Raj Lamsal and in the presence of NELTA Syangja treasurer Mr. Durga Prasad Dhakal along with Access instructors and all the Access students on June 29, 2019. On this occasion, Access students and instructors were involved in various activities with pure heart of helping and serving the elderly people making them happy. On the occasion, students were divided into four groups to get different works done. One group for cleaning surrounding by collecting garbage and clearing bushes, another group for cutting vegetables and cooking, next group for washing clothes and cleaning the rooms and last one for planting flowers in the garden of the home. Besides these, they also cleaned the rooms, passage and staircase of the building. They were actively involved to dig more than 50 meter long pipeline to hide drinking water pipe underground. After these work, all were served rice pudding and vegetable curry students prepared. After lunch with elderly people, Access students entertained them by performing cultural dances with different types of songs and hymn (Bhajan). Access students made the elderly people dance for fun. The event was really memorable for all. Finally, Access family handed over some goods like rice, pulse, soap, sugar, tea, fruits etc. to the manager of the Old Age Home. All the Access students, instructors, focal person and NELTA representative took the blessing from the elderly people, took photos and bid farewell.

Celebrating Father’s Day

Access students from Syangja Access Center celebrated Fathers’ Day on June 16, 2019 at Syangja Access Center. On that occasion students made greetings cards and decorated room and white board for the celebration. They watched various videos regarding Fathers’ Day celebration and collected information about it. They compared Father’s Day celebrations around the world with how they celebrate at their homes. They also shared their memory of last Father’s Day celebration with each other.

New Year 2076 Celebrations in Access

Syangja Access Center celebrated ‘Nepali New Year’ on April 12, 2019 by organizing Cultural Show program at Syangja Access Center. There was a cultural dance competition among the students. Access students Supriya Rana, Sima Sarki, Pushpa Thapa, Prem Maya Sarki, and Amulya Kafle participated in the dance competition and rest of the students enjoyed by singing song and dancing in group. The students who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd were awarded with prizes. Similarly, students also exchanged their best wishes among each other. The program was well hosted by Access students Nirdesh Regmi and Anusha Regmi following the guidance of the teachers. At the end of competition, all enjoyed a mini feast in the garden enjoying the April warmth.

Syangja Access Inaugurationa

Syangja Access inauguration was held on February 18, 2019 at Ranabir Jahahit Secondary School, Walling, Sayngja. Mr. Kamal Raj Lamsal, the senior vice chair of NELTA Gandaki province and Syangja Access focal person conducted the program. The Mayor of the Waling Municipality, Mr. Dilip Pratap Khand was the chief guest of the ceremony. The program was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest Mr. Dilip Pratap Khand and distinguished guest RELO Program Specialist Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam from the US Embassy, Kathmandu in the presence of Access coordinator Mr. Kunjarmani Gautam, assistant coordinator Ms. Prathana Basukala, NELTA dignitaries, Access students, and their guardians. On the opening ceremony, Mr. Dilip Pratap Khand appreciated NELTA and highlighted its role for the improvement of English language teaching around the district and thanked US Embassy and NELTA for launching the Access program in Syangja district. Similarly, Mr. Bishwa Raj Gautam highlighted the role of Access teachers, students, and guardians to create educational environment and to foster the talents of the students. Likewise, Mr. Kunjarmani Gautam, the Access program coordinator focused on the features of Access program and its importance for the disadvantaged group of students.

Syangja Access Forms Reader’s Club

Access Syangja formed Readers’ Club on January 29, 2019. The program was conducted by the Access teachers with the involvement of both groups. At first, students were introduced about Readers’ Club activities with PowerPoint presentation by Access teacher Kushal Kafle. Then, based on the interest of students, the first Readers’ Club was formed with 20 members, 10 members from each group. The meeting of the first Readers’ Club gave out following roles to its members to conduct a Readers’ Club activity at the end of February.

Syangja Access Visits American Corner Pokhara

Syangja Access visited American Corner Pokhara on January 26, 2019 together with 40 students, four Access teachers and Access Focal Person of Syangja Access Centre. They started the journey to Pokhara American Corner at 8 am and reached Pokhara around 11 am. On reaching the destination, the Assistant Librarian Mr. Amar Kunwar briefed about the resources at the Corner, showed a motivational video and gave a tour of the place answering the queries of students. Afterwards, students explored the resources at the Corner, read books, and learned to play interesting games like Scrabble and Cathy’s Card. Finally, they left the Corner at 2 pm, spent a little while at the beautiful lakeside of Pokhara and grabbed a ride back to Syangja.

Access Marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Syangja Access celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day under the chairmanship of NELTA Syangja chair Mr. Buddhi Bahadur Chhetri on January 19, 2019. On this occasion, Access Syangja organized a speech competition. Access teacher Mr. Om Bikash Sinjali conducted the program. Similarly, Access teacher Mr. Kushal Kafle briefed about the rules and regulations of speech competition. Access teachers Sunita Kafle and Gita Thapa judged students’ performance. Nine students named Pramisha G.R, Nirdesh Regmi, Smirti Koirala, Pratik Kafle, Yunish Babu Kafle, Dikshya Dhungana, Anjali Nepali and Anusha Regmi participated in this program and they spoke on Martin Luther King Jr. and Human Rights Movement. The students Menuka Hamal, Nirdesh Regmi and Anusha Regmi became first, second and third respectively and received prizes. Access Syangja Focal person Mr. Kamal Raj Lamsal wrapped up the program with a short remark motivating students to read up on historical deeds of Martin Luther King Jr. and be inspired to work for a larger purpose.

Syangja Access in Community Service

Access Center Syangja organized a community service program on December 22, 2018. Access team went to the famous and historical temple, Chhangchhangdi Temple located at Bheerkot Municipality, ward no. 4, and cleaned the surroundings of the temple very neatly. The president and the secretary of the temple management committee also accompanied the Access team and actively took part in the program. The president of Chhayachhetra Temple Management Committee, Mr. Pitamber Shrestha, appreciated the initiative of the Access team. He motivated the students for their involvement in the community service activities in the days to come. The Access team cleaned the way to the temple from the Siddhartha Highway and the whole premises of the temple. After cleaning, they worshipped and took blessings from Lord Shiva and returned to Access centre.
